| A fragmentation that results from one of a pair of electrons between two atoms moving to form a pair with the odd electron. After fragmentation, the atom that contains the charge when the ion is formed retains the charge. A radical is lost as a result of the fragmentation. This reaction involves the movement of a single electron and is symbolized by a single-barbed arrow. |
