relative intensity (in mass spectrometry) Ratio of intensity of a resolved peak to the intensity of the resolved peak that has the greatest intensity (base peak). This ratio is generally measured as the normalized ratio of the heights of the respective peaks in the mass spectrum, with the height of the base peak taken as 100.
