DRAFT DEFINITION
Unstable ion

A nascent, transient ion with high content of internal energy (sufficiently excited) which dissociates, isomerizes or reacts spontaneoulsy and immediately after its formation.

Considered between 2004 and 2006 but not included in the 2006 PAC submission
