An efficient method for producing [[MS/MS]] data in a [[FT-ICRMS]] cell through the use of an infra-red CO<sub>2</sub> laser. This has benefits over the [[SORI]] technique since the lack of the collision gas improves the duty cycle of [[IRMPD]] scans.
