Magnetron motion
Slow rotation of the center of cyclotron motion around the central axis of a Penning ion trap that results from a drift of the cyclotron center along the electric equipotential lines perpendicular to the magnetic field direction. Note: The characteristic frequency of this motion is called the magnetron frequency.
